This work uses the captured trace of my own gestural hand marks, as I made a series of back stitches and explores issues relating to repetition of the self similar and self organising dynamic systems.

The dynamic density map has been built using the natural rhythm of my own stitching by introducing a new trace each time a new stitch is made revealing how we move between order and chaos as we stitch and create natural patterns.

I began to think about this work when seeing images of for example, tracking the movement of stars through the cosmos.
